Here is a list of all courses that ICM trainees may like to consider over the course of thier training. This list is by no means exhaustive, but should act as source of ideas. Please refer to the new study leave guidance before parting with your cash!


OxFICE: Oxford Focused Intensive Care Echocardiography Course A one-day course on focused transthoracic echocardiography, designed for trainees and consultants in critical care, acute and emergency medicine and anaesthesia.

Oxford Critical Care Transfer Training A one-day multidisciplinary course for all those who deal with critically ill patients requiring transfer. The aim of the course is to provide the candidate with the knowledge and skills to be able to plan and safely manage the critically ill patient during inter- and intra-hospital transfer and understand the complications and risks associated with transfer of the critically ill patient.

Oxford FFICM Revision course A one day course providing preparation for the Fellowship of the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine OSCE and SOE examination. The next course is 13th March 2019 as is free to local trainees or £100 for those outside the deanery.

Statistics for Critical Care Appraisal Course

A one day crash course in data interpretation and statistical run by a local trainee. Aims to give trainees and consultants confidence in appraising statistics.
