ICM Return to Work SIM Day 22nd March 2019

22nd March 2019, Royal Berkshire Hospital Reading.

Calling all trainees out of clinical practice for at least 3 months for ANY reason, this includes parental leave, research, illness or any other reason. If you are not a Thames Valley Trainee but would like to attend please email us, we would love to try and fit you in!

Dr Jacques (ICM Consultant in Reading) is running to second SuppoRTT course aimed at helping trainees have a smooth transition back into clinical practice. Open to any trainee who meets to above criteria, the day is a combination of SIM, communication skills, practical sessions and talks. Also a great opportunity to meet other trainees facing the same challenges of returning to work.

This module aims to increase the confidence in trainees who are returning to work in the technical and non-technical skills relevant to the management of the critically illpatient. It would be suitable for trainees in ICM or other relevant specialties such as Acute Medicine, Emergency Medicine or Anaesthetics. Specific modules in Medicine and Anaesthetics are available, this would complement those with regard to managing critically ill patients.

Whilst childcare is not offered with this module, please email Sarah Millette, an oxford SuppoRTT fellow, sarah.millette@queens.ox.ac.uk if this is preventing you from attending as there may be solutions available if we are aware of the need.

If you wish to book please email Dr Jacques (ajacques@nhs.net) for instructions or Dr Hannah Potter for any questions (h.potter@doctors.org.uk).
